Although the city centre is further south, Helsinki’s actual core lies here, and the surrounding area is remarkably diverse. Here you’ll find an arboretum, a university campus, fields, grazing cows and sheep, new developments and a construction material storage site, scrap metal yards, a nature reserve and so on. I have a long term interest in photographing the region, taking varying approaches in my documentation work: Centrum 2 can be considered as a survey of landscape diversity. This is the second publication in the Centrum series."
