"These doorways were photographed in Pārdaugava, Riga — literally, “the other side of the Daugava River.”
More precisely, they come from the neighbourhoods of Imanta and Iļģuciems.
Their tiled surfaces recall musical scores: white grids marked with scattered notes of colour.
Across them, time has played its own free jazz, layering improvised passages over the original compositions."
